Intro

There are bike rental options across much of Norway, particularly in larger towns, tourist regions, and outdoor destinations. The most common providers are bike and sports shops, hotels and campsites, and local tourist information centres. However, finding reliable information is not always easy. Many rental websites are outdated, difficult to navigate, or lack clear details regarding bike types, included equipment, pricing, and availability.
To make things simpler, we’ve created a map highlighting rental companies located near Norway’s main transport hubs and population centres, where most cyclists typically begin or end their journey. For more specialised riding areas — including well-known gravel regions and long-distance cycling destinations — we’ve also highlighted recommended rental options within the ‘Famous Areas’ section below.
Rental prices vary considerably depending on the type of bike, season, and rental duration. Basic touring or hybrid bikes generally start at around €35 per day, while premium gravel, road, or full-suspension mountain bikes can cost €85 per day or more. Some companies include helmets, pedals, puncture repair kits, locks, and luggage racks within the rental price, while others charge extra for these items.
If renting a higher-end road or gravel bike, we strongly recommend bringing your own pedals and saddle if possible, as this greatly improves comfort and familiarity during longer rides. We also advise all cyclists to carry or rent a quality front and rear light set, particularly in Norway where tunnels, changing weather, and low-light conditions are common even during summer.
Lastly, only a limited number of rental companies offer bike bag or bike box rental for those flying with their bicycles. We have highlighted the providers we are currently aware of below.
