Tagged: June 2024
Hey People,
I am looking for 1 to 3 cycle buddies for the Fjord Norway Route next year. I will do it alone if nobody joins, but I would prefer cycling it as a pair or with four, as I am a social person most of the time.
I don’t want to rush it like Matthew did, but want to be able to maybe stay a day here or there on the way, if a location and weather is inviting. So I thought of taking up to 3 weeks for it.
I would fly from northern Germany to Trondheim and start the tour from there towwards Oppdal and then on the route to Lindenes and probably Kristiansand to cross over to Denmark afterwards.
Interested? Hit me up
flight is booked for 24th June arriving around noon.
Still looking for people to join me. Maybe even just for parts of the tour if 3 weeks are beyond your time limit.
Oh, that’s unfortunate that the answers on this topic are all gone
Will try to fix this next week. Matthew
Still trying to fix the forum messages lost after the new site transfer.

Hello Dennis,
I plan to arrive a week later on June 29th (+-1 day)
I would also like to do the Fjord Norway route. However, without any longer stops.
Maybe I’ll “catch up” with you and we can ride a day-stage together. I would get in touch again as soon as everything is planned for me.
@Matthew: fyi: I don’t know how you tagged me here but I didn’t receive any notification about it.
Greetings
Benny
Hi Benny,
sounds awesome. Let’s stay in touch. Are you also arriving in Trondheim, or maybe like Matthew did in Oppdal by train?
Also looks very nice. I haven’t checked yet, where you leave the Fjord Norway route, but I’ll also have to check alternative routes, if the Mountain passes are closed (e.g. “Gamle Strynefjellsvejen”)
I hope that Gamle Strynefjellsvegen will definitely be open at the beginning of July.
I’m more worried about Rallarvegen – I think I’ll have to take the train for part of the route.
Yes, that’s also on my route. We’ll see. Enough beauty to be had on the whole trip that I am not worried about one pass 🙂
Hi! I’m looking at that same route and would love company
. I was starting to worry that it might have too many cars on it because of some thing that Michael said elsewhere on the site. Do you think it will be OK traffic wise?
I anm arriving in Oslo June 24 and then need to get to Trondheim. I have until July21.

Hi Jamie,
cool to see that people are planning to do the same route at the same time. Let’s see what the actual plans will be by mid June, then we could share contact numbers or so, to plan a meeting point along the route.
Hi Jamie, Fjord Norway is a difficult route and has a number of tourists and main roads to contend with. You should do Trondheim – Bodø or Trondheim – Bergen veir the coast, which have a lot less traffic and are more suited for the cycling experience you are after.

So, today’s the day. Arriving at Trondheim airport at 11:30, rebuilding the bike and then off to Fjord Norway.
Thanks Matthew for all the work you’re putting into this
