Cycling across the whole of southern Norway is one of the last great adventures to be had in Western Europe. Most of Norway’s population is situated on the coast. When heading inland you will feel alone for many kilometers and the scenery is constantly changing. Forests and lakes dominate the eastern side. The center is filled with high mountains and a barren rocky landscape. Finally, in the east, you will descend down glacier-carved valleys to a lush fertile fjord region covered in vertical mountains raising up from the sea. When you finally reach one of Norway’s modern coastal towns you will be amazed at the journey you have undertaken! This section includes all areas south of Trondheim and north of Oslo and Stavanger.
