The Great Eastern Explorer
This route takes you through one of the most remote and sparsely populated regions in southern Scandinavia, offering exceptional gravel roads and breathtaking landscapes of untouched wilderness. It begins with a historic boat journey across Norway’s second-largest lake, leaving you in the heart of no man’s land with only your bike to navigate this wild terrain. After cycling around the lake and crossing it again, you’ll ascend to the mountains, tackling three 1000-meter plateaus before descending into pristine forested areas. The journey continues through the Tour de Dovre section and concludes with quiet gravel roads winding through the idyllic seterveien historic route, leading you back to Røros. Words alone can’t capture the magic of this adventure, but thankfully, there’s a video to bring it to life!
