This is a truly outstanding route, designed by local riders and fine-tuned by the Cycle Norway team to showcase the very best of southern Norway’s gravel riding. Expect “champagne gravel” that rolls through scenery so varied you’ll sometimes feel transported to the Canadian Rockies, and at other times deep inside the crème de la crème of Nordic forest trails.
It’s not an easy ride, three demanding climbs on mostly car-free gravel will test your legs, but that’s Norway: no flat roads, and no dull views. The reward is constant beauty, shaped by the landscape’s ups and downs.
Duckboards, hidden connectors, and wild stretches of empty gravel create a pure sense of adventure, just you, your bike, and nature at its best. And with just a 1.5-hour drive or direct bus from Oslo, it’s the perfect day trip or weekend escape when the sun is shining, a chance to test your legs, ride world-class gravel, and add a fresh line to your Strava heatmap.
