Bergen to Åndalsnes (v. Sognefjellet)

This route diverges from the coastline, instead leading inland towards the towering mountain passes. Offering a mix of challenging climbs and serene stretches along flat fjord roads, it provides a balanced cycling experience, allowing for recovery between ascents. Notable highlights include the majestic mountain passes of Sognefjellet (the highest in Northern Europe), Geiranger (with the option of a detour to Dalsnibba), and the world-famous Trollstigen. Along the way, cyclists traverse tranquil roads flanking two of Norway’s longest fjords, Hardanger and Sognefjorden. Upon reaching Åndalsnes, you have the choice to board a train bound for Oslo or Trondheim or to continue their journey northward, either along the coast or through additional mountain passes towards Oppdal.
