Hello Cycle Norway,…. to the right person.
I have a question for my attached planned route nearly following your route Oppdal-Kristiandssand..
A further route for a 2-year-old route from Nordkap – Tromsø – Senja -Lofoten – Bodø – E 17 – Trondheim.
My route (a wish) goes around Trondheim – Atlantic road – Molde-Anderness following your route down to Odda, from there I take road E 134 (there are lots of tunnels) But think the road to Sauda is Nogo good in summer time traffic.? and national road 46 goes against Sand. …. Here I have a pit stop one week in a summer residence with my son and family for a week.
My question goes on what to do from Kaupanger – Flam…. is there a boat trip.? …Or takes on route Lærdalsøyri following national road 5627 – Aurlandsvangen. On your map is just a strip. 🙁
I saw on a tunnel map there are some issues with passage for cycles
Hope to hear from you, my trip starts 11.06 from Trondheim
Hi Benny,
Here is the info I sent by email.
Option 1:
Kaupanger – Gudvangen – Flam:

Option 2:
Sogndal (not far from Kaupanger) – Flåm

I personally would not take the E134. You can take road 520 over the mountains (beautiful and only a bit of tourist traffic very safe) to Sanda/Ropeid and from there jump on a ferry across the fjord to Sand or further south to Stavanger.

Best of luck with your fantastic trip!
