This link describes an alternative road to circumvent the Toventunnelen on road 78 that cyclists are prohibited in.

The alternative road is along Vefsnfjorden. It says you have to carry your bike for 50m because of a landslide in 2017. Otherwise the old, albeit unmaintained, road sounds fine.
Does anyone know if this information is still correct? I’m happy to go through based on the information but as it’s dated 2021, I wondered if anyone had any more recent experience.
To be honest, I’d be surprised if anyone could answer this question. This road is not on any main cycling route and few people cycle here. I think you’ll need to go there and be the one updating us on the situation. Tunnels don’t collape so I think you get through them without too many problems. But of course, you do so at your own risk. Can I ask why you plan to cycle here? Are you going up or down the E6 road?
Thanks for the information. We’re wanting to get from Sandnessjoen after going to Heroy, to Mosjoen to catch the train to Trondheim.
