Tagged: Food freeze-dried bulk mail
Dear cyclists, travellers,
During our cycling trip to the North Cape, we thought we would take freeze-dried bags with us as our main meal every day. They weigh relatively little, are easy to prepare and actually taste quite good. The only downside is that they are quite expensive. Unless we would buy them in bulk from a specialized webshop. Then the price can be reduced somewhat per meal. We could buy breakfast and a quick lunch for the afternoon in a store to get through the day. However, we are on the road for several weeks and if we had to carry everything with us at once, the weight would quickly increase to over five kilos. Another option would be to stock up on supplies at the sports shops every time, but I don’t know how much they cost per piece in Norway? If I’m not mistaken, I got them at Kiwi and Joker for about 120 NOK? If we buy them in bulk we save about NOK 35 per day per person. The question is, how would we possibly distribute those meals and pick them up somewhere? I had a forgotten laptop cable sent from Roldal last month and Belgian customs are being very difficult about it. Unless I pay the exact value of the cable, I won’t get it. Or are there simpler solutions? Thank you in advance for your expert advice.
Kind regards,
Suy
