What Makes Norwegians Happy? A Bike, Sunshine, and the Road Ahead

After weeks of mild and boring overcast weather, Norway was finally blessed with a rare gift, two solid weeks of sunshine. And with that simple change, something shifted. The people smiled more. Parks filled up. And just like that, you remember why Norwegians endure the long winters: for days like these.

Back on the Saddle (and Back on YouTube)

It’s been a while since I’ve posted on YT. I’ve had my head down, building Cycle Norway into something that can serve the growing community of cycle tourists and adventure seekers. But with the summer sun returning and the trails calling, I’m back with a new series of videos and stories from the road.

Before I could head out, though, there was one important errand: picking up a new bike.

A New Ride from Fara Cycling

I made my way into central Oslo to visit the team at Fara Cycling, a company I’ve admired for years and worked with in the past. The shop had its usual buzz, customers getting fitted, riders sharing stories, and a crew passionate about performance and adventure.

Then came the moment: being handed the keys, so to speak, to the new Fara All-Road in their beautiful Strand colour, a soft sand tone that speaks of coastlines, trails, and journeys still to come.

Built for road and gravel, this bike is a perfect match for Norway’s mixed terrain, light, sturdy, and versatile. It’s built to go far, with the kind of minimalist elegance Fara is known for.

A Quick Catch-Up with Jeff

Upstairs in the Fara offices, I caught up with Jeff Webb, CEO and long-time friend. We talked shop, reflected on how both of our ventures have grown, and, naturally, started planning the next adventure. Expect another joint video later this summer. If you haven’t seen our epic long-distance ride across Norway. You should check it out!

Into Telemark: The Journey Continues

I wrapped the day with one thought in mind: it’s time to hit the road. The next video will take you deep into Telemark, one of Norway’s most underrated counties for cycling. With quiet gravel roads, rich history, and dramatic scenery, it’s a region that deserves more attention—and I’ll be showing it from the saddle.

So if you’ve been wondering where I’ve been, or if you’re just looking for the inspiration to get out and ride, this new series is for you. Thanks for being here, and as always, the journey continues.
