Røros – Ålesund
Røros – Ålesund: Dubbed the Goldilocks route, this journey offers just the right balance of distance and elevation for a single day if you’re into Audax cycling. For most cyclists, it’s an enjoyable 3-4 day ride, filled with endless breathtaking views. Highlights include the towering 1,000-meter Trollveggen rock wall, the wide-open gravel roads of Grimsdalen Valley, and the authentic charm of the historic mining town of Røros. Ending at Ålesund’s lookout point, with its restaurant and iconic rooftop city view, is a fitting finale to this epic cross-Norway adventure.
Note: After Åndalsnes, heading west, there’s a 6.4 km tunnel. We recommend taking a taxi or one of the four daily buses through it.
