Hi there. Starting my 3 month trip through norway next month and was wondering if anyone knows the current state about the Gamlevegen Måbødalen (next to the Route 7), Eidfjord. Last year I found an article (I think it was from vegvegen.no) where they consider never to open that road again. My norsk isn’t the best yet so I am struggling finding any new informations. Does anyone have insights about the current state of that road?

I will be packed with all that long-trip requirements (tent, clothes, cooking equipment etc.) so won’t be too agile in moving that big bulky bike over high rocks. A few is ok, and gravel certainly is, simply not wanting to remove my bags every 100 meters. 🙂

so, TL;DR: Anyone got good insights about the state of that road?
