Thanks, that’s great news for me 🙂 So many great places to see and routes to cycle but very little time …
Out of sheer curiosity, I checked the beginning of the trail on Sennalandet mountain plateau, and of course the locals are right: There is no way you could cross this river, and the trail didn’t look promising as well 😀
Thanks for your input! I already suspected that Berlevåg was too far away for your “weekend trip” last summer 🙂
And the Hurtigruten/ Havila timetable is most convenient for the trip from Vardø (17:00 h) to Båtsfjord (18:00 h) than Berlevåg (22.25 h) or even the other way: Berlevåg 22:00 h, Båtsfjord 00:30 h, Vardø 03:30 h. But the times might be not that important during the midnight sun season 😉
Hi Matthew,
thanks for the detailed information about this trail. Hiking my bike for 40 kilometers doesn’t sound very tempting, especially in this (possibly) harsh environment. I will definitely take your advice and take the paved road up to Olderfjord. Won’t be less of an adventure, I guess 🙂
It’s great to get first-hand information about such distant areas from your network. Actually, I don’t think I would even consider cycling that far north without your trip reports and detailed route information. Kudos to you and your team!
Thanks a lot; I just send you an email.
