hej guys,
first and foremost I want to share my excitement! I am heading for Norway end of the week. I will have about 10 days for riding my bike. I used this website intensivly for my research and can’t wait to hit the (gravel) road.
And since this is the subforum about specific route questions: if anyone wants to offer some hints about good food/cafe, great places to put a tent, or general remarks about the route etc, it will be highly appriciated 🙂
My route will be a combination of the “Jotunheimen Gravel Explorer” and the “Nasjonal Sykkelrute 4: Skarveheimen Rundt”. Will park my car at the end of lake bygdin, take the ferry to bygdin and start going north… its going to be a tough one. I plan with roughly 130km to 150km of riding per day.

Hi Berno,
It looks like a fantastic route!
And certainly a tough one! There have been serious storms in the area over the past 48 hours, and some gravel roads may be damaged. I’m unsure when you plan to go but check with locals and look out for signs. There is a small chance that not all of the route may be rideable if there has been significant damage. The gravel sections have paved road alternatives should you need to turn around. Hopefully, everything will be all good, but it’s good you know the current situation.
In regards to food/cafe, camping, etc. You’ll find all the info I have about most sections here.

The great thing about this ride is you have small sections of complete wilderness/remoteness followed by small towns that you can stock up at.
Logistically it makes it very easy to keep supplied and to find shelter when required,
I wish you a great trip!
