Lenge nok til \u00e5 vite at det \u00e5 sykle ut av byen vanligvis inneb\u00e6rer en frustrerende blanding av asfalt, trafikklys, kl\u00f8nete veikryss og sykkelskilt som ser ut til \u00e5 v\u00e6re designet for \u00e5 f\u00e5 deg til \u00e5 g\u00e5 deg vill. Jeg begynte \u00e5 legge merke til grusveiene som g\u00e5r langs yttersidene av byen. De fleste ryttere kjenner de som tar deg dypt inn i Nordmarka, den enorme nordlige skogen som lenge har v\u00e6rt Oslos gr\u00f8nne fluktrom. Men jeg s\u00e5 ikke nordover. Det som en gang var en forsyningsrute, er n\u00e5 en grussti som strekker seg omtrent 20 kilometer, og snor seg forbi gammel skog og \u00e5pne jorder, ur\u00f8rt av trafikk. Den skriker ikke etter oppmerksomhet. Det er ikke bare en tursti eller en hyggelig s\u00f8ndagstur. Det er en hemmelig grusvei som lar deg gli vestover ut av Oslo med knapt et spor av byen i h\u00e6lene. Ruten begynner i nord, snuser tett inntil bygrensen, f\u00f8r den stille driver ned mot Sandvika, en forstad i vest av Oslo. Derfra snor du deg gjennom en kort strekning med asfalt og forstadslandskap til st\u00f8yen forsvinner igjen, erstattet av fuglesang og knasende dekk idet du inntar skogen i Vestmarka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><div class=\"theme-image-wrapper\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/cyclenorway.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/20250516_174709.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-31547\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cyclenorway.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/20250516_174709.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/cyclenorway.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/20250516_174709-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cyclenorway.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/20250516_174709-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Vestmarka er villere og mindre tilgivende enn Nordmarka. Den har f\u00e6rre grusveier, og hvis du ikke planlegger ruten din ordentlig, ender du fort i blindvei. Men denne vanskeligheten bringer ensomhet. Det er ikke et sted folk snubler over. N\u00e5r du f\u00f8rst er der inne, er det helt ditt eget. Fem kilometer fra Oslo, og likevel er du dypt inne i en nordisk skog, alene og levende.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Etter \u00e5 ha snirklet seg gjennom Vestmarka, \u00e5pner landskapet seg. Her sl\u00e5r du deg til ro. Rytmen endres. Du vil passere stille innsj\u00f8er, tett furu, den sporadiske el-syklisten, og noen av de beste villcampingsidene i S\u00f8r-Norge. Det er omtrent p\u00e5 dette punktet, kanskje 90 minutter og 40 kilometer inn, at det sl\u00e5r deg: du har forlatt Oslo bak deg. Men hvis du f\u00f8lger Cycle Norway, er det et annet alternativ. Du fortsetter. Inn i de dype skogene. Ut p\u00e5 navnl\u00f8se stier. Inn i Telemark fylke, hvor grusen blir grovere og stillheten blir h\u00f8yere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Norge kunne godt v\u00e6rt verdens grushovedstad.
