Seules les routes principales essentielles au transport des approvisionnements sont maintenues ouvertes gr\u00e2ce aux chasse-neige. Les routes moins essentielles ferment g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement lorsque de fortes chutes de neige commencent \u00e0 tomber \u00e0 la fin de l'automne ou au d\u00e9but de l'hiver.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En mars et avril, les \u00e9quipes d'ouverture de routes, \u00e9quip\u00e9es de machines lourdes, se mettent au travail pour d\u00e9gager les routes de montagne ferm\u00e9es. Chaque ann\u00e9e, elles rencontrent des conditions diff\u00e9rentes. Parfois, il y a d'\u00e9normes quantit\u00e9s de neige qui prennent du temps \u00e0 \u00e9vacuer. D'autres ann\u00e9es, le manque de neige permet de d\u00e9gager rapidement les routes et de les ouvrir dans les d\u00e9lais pr\u00e9vus. Cependant, il faut se rappeler que m\u00eame si une route ouvre rapidement, le printemps en montagne est une p\u00e9riode volatile avec des menaces d'avalanches pr\u00e9sentes. Les routes de montagne peuvent fermer sans pr\u00e9avis et la neige fra\u00eeche peut les maintenir ferm\u00e9es pendant un certain temps.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il est \u00e0 noter qu'il n'y a jamais de date fixe pour l'ouverture d'une route.
